This is becoming a hot topic at the Ontario Montclair SD in California. We are hoping to move down this path sooner than later. We plan to set up a cloud were all information generated and saved by applications on these devices can keep in a secure location. We are also looking at how we manage, track and in the case of abuse, how we can either disable the accounts or for tablets or smart phones provided by the district, disable the device. Of course this means we need to centralize application purchases, a real headache from what I can see and also rewrite our AUP's.
Would love to hear from as many people in K-12 education who have already gone through this process or are in any stage of planning a BYOT/D program.
